T-ball Is Over!

Well, last Thursday was Molly's last T-ball game. It's sad! We're really going to miss it. But, Monday night was the awards ceremony at the ball field. I didn't even tell Molly she would be getting a trophy. I wanted her to be surprised...and, boy, was she!
It was the first trophy she's ever gotten & she was absolutely in love with it! I thought we were going to have to sleep with it that night!
Tomorrow, she is going to school (all day) with Braylon and Rhiana to get a feel for what it will be like next year. She is so excited & already has backpack ready to go. I hope this teacher knows what she's in for!

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Saturday was the Pine Tree Festival. Molly rode in the parade with her dance group that morning...And danced later that afternoon at the Festival...Molly, Braylon & Rhiana loved the big, inflatable slide...It was extremely hot, but a lot of fun! Later that night, we went to the Mason's for supper, cards & Wii playing (and enjoyed some great banana pudding)!
I had a great Mother's Day Sunday. Molly & Eric gave me a Wii that morning...but Eric had also bought a Star Wars game for him...I guess it was Mother's & Father's Day all rolled into one! We then rode the rangers to pick up Mrs. Lisa & we went to lunch. After lunch, we fed the ducks and geese, and then headed to the farm. It's been almost a week since we got that 8 inches of rain in one day & we still have about 3 acres under water! It looks like a pond in the middle of the field...it even has geese swimming in it!
Surprisingly, we do have some corn sprouting up! Hello, little sprouts... So, hopefully, the entire field will not have to be replanted...even though, I'm pretty sure what's under water will!
Eric, then, hooked up to one of the nurse tanks & headed towards the house with it, while Molly & I headed to my parents house. We were able to spend time with both moma & daddy and my grandparents before heading back home. Later that evening, me, Molly & Eric all went fishing and had a really great time! Every fish we caught (no matter what size), Molly would say "It's a keeper!" Mrs. Lisa came over later that night & ate supper (that Eric cooked)! It was a great & busy weekend!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Meet Lucky...

Our little family is expanding....and, NO, not with a baby. Meet the newest addition to the Hammock family, Lucky...
Sunday before last, my parents and my uncle were riding golf carts along trails in the woods. They stopped along the path to talk when my moma heard a faint crying sound. There, in the middle of the woods, she found two puppies curled up against the base of a tree. Unfortunately, one of them had already starved to death & the other wasn't far from it. She picked the dirty, hungry, little puppy up & took it home. They bathed it & fed it. My aunt & uncle took it to the vet the next day to get it's shots & have him examined. The vet estimated him to be about 4 weeks old, he weighed 1.75 lbs & said he appeared to be a full-blooded Yorkie! That day, my nephew named him Lucky. And, indeed, he was one "lucky" little puppy that my parents just happened to hear him that day! Now, he'll be "lucky" to survive living with Molly! She's dropped him numerous times, strolls him in her baby stroller & has ran over him twice on her bicycle! God Bless him...

Baby Talk

I hate thinking about the fact that my little girl is becoming such a big girl. It's so hard to believe that she will actually be starting school in a few months! My baby...in school! With all this "growing up" comes the disappearance of "baby talk". I've always loved how little ones have their own words for certain things. As she started to talk, Molly always seemed to put a "y" on the end of every word. Example: Bottle was "bowee", later was "waytery". And, she never said "I" or "me"...it was always "my". "My wuv you" or "Hand it to my". But now, almost everything she says is "big girl talk", and I really miss all the baby talk that only I understood. Sure, she still has a few words that seem to be unique to her, but most of them are gone. One of my favorites is that she still doesn't say "pie", she says "pipe"..."I want some peanut butter pipe"!
I bring all this up because this weekend she came up with a new word that brought back all the memories of baby talk. She was riding her bicycle on the carport while I was watering flowers. She suddenly came running up to me & said, "Mommy, did you see that? There was a buzzlebee after me!" I didn't even correct her...I guess I'm trying to keep her a baby as long as possible!

I Love 3-Day Weekends...

Oh, I am SO loving my 3-day weekends! But, I have quickly learned that they are still not long enough! We were all over the place this weekend, so I'll try to just hit the high-notes to keep this post from being 3 pages long.
Saturday night, we went to a great little Japanese steakhouse & enjoyed a great meal with friends. There were 11 of us total & afterwards we went bowling. It was the first time in years that Eric & I had bowled, and it was Molly's very first time! We all had a really good time & cannot wait to go again!
Yesterday, we spent most of the day at the farm. We started off by spreading Karmex in the pond to kill any weeds & lily pads. Molly loves riding in the boat. I do, too, but I'm not great at driving it...I had us running into all sorts of things! But, I made dang sure not to hit any branches with wasp nests hanging in them...so, I guess I'm not that bad of a driver after all!
The Mason's joined us at the farm & we rode 4-wheelers the rest of the afternoon.
We visited Brown Springs & the girls couldn't resist taking a dip...(in their underwear, nonetheless)...
But, then again, neither could Eric. (However, he didn't strip down to his undies, thankfully)...
There was lots of squealing & kicking at this point...
We rode down to the river where we saw 3 turkeys & a rattlesnake (thankfully, it was dead)! Once again, the water just calls their name...."Come, girls, dip your little feet in...the water's lovely..."
They also enjoyed a refreshing (& freezing cold) drink from the running well.
It was a great weekend & I cannot wait til the next!

Myrtle Beach 2007

Here's a video of Molly & Caroline running from the waves on our 2007 vacation to Myrtle Beach. It's amazing to see how much they have changed since then. Enjoy...
