School's getting better!

I don't how I missed posting the entire week last week! But, I guess it could have something to do with having Molly in school now, a great friend's birthday supper (twice), a hair appointment, Molly's first day back at dancing, an over-night trip to Savannah, oh, and a full-time job & husband! Yeah, I guess all of that kind of took up my week! Molly had a great week at school last week. We went the entire week with no tears...from either of us. She's still not thrilled about having to go to school each day, but always has a great time once she gets there. And, she's always so excited to show me her "artwork" from the end of each day. However, I do think she has a little bully in her class. And, I mean "little" literally. The girl is half of Molly's size, but she's pulling Molly's hair everyday. Each day I've been telling Molly to tell the teacher if she does it again, and she says that she will...but, she never does! She says she doesn't want the other little girl to get in trouble. Finally, I told her Friday morning that if it happens again & she doesn't tell the teacher, then SHE'S the one that's going to be in trouble. So, as soon as I picked her up from school Friday, here was our dialogue...(I'm going to use "Sally" as the little girl's name...that's not her real name!) Me: "Molly, did Sally pull your hair again today?" Molly: "Nope." Me: "Are you sure?" Molly: "No, her didn't pull my hair all day long." Me: "Well, that's good." Molly: "But, her did push me down in the lunch line & punch me in the tooth!" Me: "Well, did you tell the teacher?" Molly: "No." Me: "Molly! Why not?" Molly: "You only said to tell the teacher if her pulled my hair!" Oh, well...at least I try! Molly spent the night with Meme Saturday night while me, Eric,Tracy & Cliff headed to Savannah to surprise Robin for her birthday. She & Shannon were already down there & she had no idea that we would be joining them. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Paula Deen's "The Lady & Sons" and then over to Savannah Smiles where we had such a great time! It was a nice weekend getaway, but we sure were proud to get back to Miss Molly yesterday afternoon! Oh, and remember the chickens I told you about in my last post? The didn't even survive the night! We found all three of them the next morning. My guess is that Jimmy was the assassin, and Bandit was the destroyer.

Weekend's Almost Here...Finally!

Since there's only 30 more minutes til my weekend begins, I'll have to make this post short & sweet. We had a rough time leaving Molly at school yesterday & Tuesday mornings. Both Molly & Mommy cried. Her teacher is so great, though, and has sent me texts, pictures & even videos to show me that Molly is fine within minutes of me leaving her. These little gestures from the teacher sure make my day a lot better! However, we had a much better morning today. No tears were shed from either of us. I really hope it continues to improve each day. Tuesday was not a great day for Eric, either. Late Tuesday night, a battery blew up on him at the farm. It burned his upper left arm pretty bad and got his face a little bit, too. He was very lucky...it could have been a lot worse. We're are keeping it bandaged & rubbed down in Silvidine in hopes that it will heal really soon. Much to my & Molly's surprise, while Eric was at supper with Shannon last night, our neighbors dropped off 3 chickens that Eric told them we wanted. Yes, we now have 2 hens & a rooster running around our yard. So, the next time you come over, please watch out for chicken poop! I'm sure Jimmy & Bandit are going to have a great time chasing their new "friends"!

We Didn't Make It To Wednesday...

Well, today was the day. The day I'd been dreading for the last few weeks. Molly was extremely clingy this morning when we arrived at school & I knew it was not going to be good when it came time for me to go. Sure enough, it was awful. I finally had to just hand her over to the teacher and walk out the door. I could hear her screaming, crying & begging for me not to leave. It absolutely broke my heart. I cried the entire way back to work. About half an hour after I made it back to work, "Miss" Jane text me a picture of her getting ready for storytime. She said she was doing fine & looking forward to recess. Hopefully, she'll have a good day & hopefully, we'll both have a better morning tomorrow.

It's Official!

It's official...we have a "school girl" on our hands. Molly's first day of Pre-K went off without a hitch Friday. She had a wonderful day & was such a big girl.
I have a feeling that this week isn't going to go quite as smoothly, though. She cried herself to sleep last night, holding my hand & begging to not have to go back to school today. Her last comment of the night was, "Mommy? You know how I've been telling you I don't want to go back to school and you say I have to?? Well, we will finish talking about that in the morning, okay?" She was definitely letting me know this conversation is far from over. She went to school again this morning, though, without crying even though it was a little "iffy" at the end. Thankfully, she has a wonderful Pre-K teacher that knows how to pre-occupy her.
I'm guessing (but really hoping that I'm wrong) that by Wednesday, we will have a major meltdown! Please pray that she doesn't...I don't think Mommy can handle it!

Getting Ready For School!

I cannot believe that we are actually having to get ready for school....SCHOOL! Molly is supposed to still be my little baby, not old enough to be going to "big" school. Where has the time gone? She starts to Pre-K Friday & SHE is very excited...I, on the other hand, am really NOT excited. Unfortunately, one of the bad sides of getting ready for school is having to go to the doctor beforehand. Last week, Molly had to get 4 shots (2 in each leg). Needless to say, she was not to happy about that! But, she did really good & ran no fever with them. And, yesterday, we went back for her eyes & ears exam which she passed with flying colors. So, now, she's all ready to start school. But, I'm not ready for her to...it's going to be a LONG day for mommy! We also found out last week that Triton had a cancerous tumor that needed to be removed. Unfortunately, because of where it was located, we had to have his "boys" removed as well. We were not happy about this at all since we had always planned on getting a puppy off of him. But, we are very thankful that he went through the surgery great & is on the road to recovery! It's my turn for doctors appointments now...I head back for more biopsies today. And, though, it's never a trip that I look forward to, it is a necessary trip that I embrace. It's always nice to see the doctors & nurses at Dr. Sharkey's office...they have all been so great to me and are such wonderful people. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of Mo's first day of school & post them on here next week. Pray for all of us that we make it through those first few days!

Myrtle Beach 2007

Here's a video of Molly & Caroline running from the waves on our 2007 vacation to Myrtle Beach. It's amazing to see how much they have changed since then. Enjoy...
