I'm Ready To Wash...

I have a new washing machine...And, it works! I feel like a whole new woman & I cannot wait to get to washing clothes again. (Give me a week...by then, I will have come to my senses about how insane that just sounded)! Me, Molly, Tracy, Caroline and Robin all attended PromFest Monday night. It's a fashion show that the high school's junior class puts on every year. The students model prom dresses and tuxes, and it's always set to a really cute storyline. This year's was absolutely wonderful, and we had a really good time! The girls loved watching all the "princesses" in their beautiful dresses. I got a really good report from Allen yesterday on my previous biopsies. Two good reports in a row...woo-hoo! Of course, he couldn't let me leave without putting me through a little bit of pain, so he did a couple of new biopsies, but they weren't that bad! Well, today has made me realize exactly how fast my baby is growing up. I just got back from signing her up for Pre-K. That's right....Molly....in Pre-K! I cannot believe it...where has the time gone?? I just brought her home from the hospital yesterday, wearing her cute little pink & white jumper with no hair and big, beautiful brown eyes. Well, at least, it still seems like it was just yesterday...

Still No Washer!

I cannot believe that I went ALL last week without blogging! But, actually, last week was pretty calm & quiet...nothing too exciting happened (which is quite unusual around our house)! UPS delivered the part for the washer that we'd been waiting on for 2 weeks. However, he left it on the porch by the front door...and needless to say, Jimmy enjoyed opening it for us. Fortunately, it still seemed to be in tact when we got home that evening, and we were sure that this would finally fix our washing maching. I mean, come on...it had already been over 6 weeks...this would surely do the trick. Wrong! Not only did this part not fix it, the Sears repairman said the part that we needed would cost $939! To which we said, "No, thanks. We'll just get a new one." It should be here today...but, I'm not getting my hopes up! We spent most of the weekend with friends. We went to the Mason's house for tacos Friday night and enjoyed playing the Wii. Shannon and Robin joined us later in the night. Saturday night, we all gave Shannon a birthday party at the clubhouse. It turned out great & we all had a really good time. Last night, we headed back to the clubhouse & enjoyed all the leftovers. It was a fun weekend, but I am so ready for Spring to get here so we can get outside more! I've had enough cold weather to do me for a while!

A Week of Ups & Downs...

Well, where do I start? Let's start with the good things that have been happening the last couple of days. 1. I went back to see Allen yesterday and got a really good report from my previous biopsies. We were giving each other high-fives, because it was the first time in 5 years that I actually got a good report & he didn't have to go back in on any of the biopsy sites. So, that was great! He biopsied 4 new spots yesterday, but it went fine & I'm not sore at all today. Now, it's just wait & see again for 2 more weeks. 2. When we built the house, I really wanted to go ahead & get a security system installed, but Eric didn't, saying that it would just be aggravating. Well, he's finally decided that it wouldn't be such a bad idea after all since me & Molly are home alone so much during the farming season (which is at least 10 months a year!!) So, Brinks installed our security system Tuesday. 3. The cleaning lady came Monday...I love when she comes....I love coming home to a clean house that smells like Pine-Sol...I love that clean smell...and having clean floors that Eric hasn't trample mud all over...it's so wonderful! 4. I've been waiting 5 weeks on today...today is the day the Sears man is finally going to fix our washer. Moma has been so great helping me with my laundry for more than a month now, but I am so ready to get my washer fixed! 5. Molly has already been to 2 Valentine's parties this week. Last night, she went with Uncle Jamey to the church party. She had a ball...they ate pizza, gave out their valentines, and even danced afterwards. She came home with a whole bag of valentines (which she now totes around with her everywhere she goes guarding it like it's a bag of money). We also had a little Valentine's party at my moma's house Tuesday night for Molly, Braylon, Rhiana & Kasey. They really enjoyed playing together, eating pizza & cupcakes & getting their bags of goodies from each other. Here are a couple of pics... Ok...on to the not-so-good things that have been going on this week.... 1. The security system people accidentally hit an electrical line in the wall in Molly's room during installation. Not only did they hit it, but they cut it in half. So, that meant that the electricians had to be called to see what needed to be done. When they got there, the news wasn't good...the sheetrock had to be torn down to access the wires. (Our house is only 1 year old, and we're already having to tear down walls...geez!) Luckily, the sheetrockers were able to get started yesterday. It's a 3-day process that they should finish tomorrow, but I will then still have to repaint that wall...geez! 2. Something was programmed wrong on the security system and everytime I open my back door, the alarm goes off....which I'm sure the neighbors love. And, it totally freaks me & Molly out (and Jimmy and Bandit and Triton)! But, hopefully, that will fixed today, too! 3. The Sears man did come this morning, but still didn't have the part he needed. So, now he won't be back until Feb. 19th....geez! 4. For the last 3 days, my house has been full of security system technicians, electricians, sheetrockers, and a Sears repairman....so much for having the clean house! My floors are filthy again & it doesn't even smell clean anymore...geez! Oh, well, Happy Valentine's Day!

"Efanants"

This was such a beautiful (and busy and fun) weekend! The weather was great...it was nice to finally see some warm days that we could actually enjoy being outside! Friday afternoon, I took Molly to see the circus here in town. It was only here for one day, but they had two different shows...one at 4:30 and one at 7:30. We opted for the earlier show, hoping it would be a little less crowded. But, it was still packed. Molly was so excited & couldn't wait to see a real, live "efanant". My moma, Braylon, my aunt & uncle and my little cousin Rhiana went with us. The kids absolutely loved it! It was the first time any of them had seen elephants, lions, tigers, camels, etc! And, I must say, I was pretty impressed with the show myself...it was very entertaining! The kids enjoyed riding the ponies when we arrived...

And getting up close & personal with the elephants during intermission...After the circus (& 2 bags of cotton candy, a magic light-up wand, and a circus coloring book), we met Eric, Shannon & Robin at Ware's for supper. It was SO packed that night...but, as always, the food was great!

Saturday morning, me, Molly & Robin took off to Statesboro to hit Hobby Lobby. I absolutely love that store! I bought some new ribbon to make a few hairbows with & a couple of little Easter & Valentine's "what-nots" for the house. They always have the cutest things! We also stopped by Petco where Molly enjoyed seeing all the pets. She saw the "biggest mouse her had ever seen" which was actually a guinea pig...she gets so excited! And, of course, no trip to Statesboro is complete without stopping by Nikko's for some Japanese...yum yum!

We met up with the whole crowd Saturday night at Coleman's Lake for supper. It was the first time we'd been there in quite a while. It was very good. Afterwards, a few of us stopped by the Mason's to welcome Cliff home. And, no trip to the Mason's is complete without playing the Wii. Yesterday was such a pretty day & we took advantage of it by staying outside all day. Me, Molly, Eric and Shannon rode the rangers up town to the Waffle King for lunch. We then rode all over the place...through the woods, around the pond, even to the schools to visit the petting zoo & playgrounds. We had everyone come over & shoot skeet at the pond that afternoon. Then, we headed over to the Mason's for Supper Club...you can check out some of the pictures from Supper Club here. It was a very busy weekend, but it was so much fun!

It's Dang Cold!

It's cold in here in south Georgia! If you don't believe me, take a look at what our plants looked like this morning...
Well, it actually was just one plant. And, well, it was actually because Eric left the outside faucet spraying onto the poor little plant all night! But, still...it's dang cold!

Alaska Volcano

I'm sure most of you have heard about the volcano in Alaska that is about to erupt. My cousin (who lives in Alaska) emailed me this morning about the volcano and gave me a really interesting link to a website which is covering the volcano minute-to-minute. They are expecting it to erupt any day now. If you are interested, you can check out the website here: www.avo.alaska.edu/activity/Redoubt.php

Super Bowl Weekend

Congratulations, Steelers on your Super Bowl victory! We enjoyed watching the game last night with friends...but, really enjoyed watching all of the great commercials! When Molly & I arrived home Friday afternoon, we found these in our driveway... Well, actually, Molly was asleep. She didn't see them until later that afternoon. But, regardless, she was very excited when she finally did see them! We enjoyed riding them all weekend. It was pretty chilly, but the black one has a windshield so that helped a lot. You couldn't really stand the wind riding on the green one. Braylon & my parents came over yesterday, and we had a blast riding them. Braylon was just beyond thrilled...I cannot wait for it to get warmer weather so we can enjoy them even more! Friday night, we went with Shannon & Robin to J&B's Steakhouse. Wow, it was great. I think they served the biggest steaks I've ever seen in my life. And, I swear, my plate had 43 shrimp on it ( I wonder if it was in honor of Super Bowl 43)...Me & Molly ate shrimp until I thought we would pop & we still had 14 left to take home! Saturday, we rode the Rangers some and later that night, Shannon, Robin, Tracy & Caroline came over. We ordered some pizzas and enjoyed playing cards & mixing a few frozen drinks. They were actually pretty delicious! Later that night, we took the girls out to roast marshmallows...they loved it! They are such little hams... Molly didn't really care to eat the marshmallows. She just wanted to roast them... ...And then, Jimmy would still them off of her stick!

Myrtle Beach 2007

Here's a video of Molly & Caroline running from the waves on our 2007 vacation to Myrtle Beach. It's amazing to see how much they have changed since then. Enjoy...
